A turtle carapace is a special type of chestplate that can resist heat. It is part of the turtle armor set.

Usage

Waterbreathing

When equipped, the turtle carapace provides 15 seconds of the Water Breathing effect. This effect immediately recharges when exposed to air or bubble columns. This effect stacks with other pieces of turtle armor.

Attributes

Turtle Carapace provides +6 Armor, +1 Heat Resistance, and +0.25 Environment Heat Resistance. If Frostiful is also installed, then it provides -2 Frost Resistance and -0.5 Environment Frost Resistance.

Repairing

Unit Repair

A turtle carapace can be repaired in an anvil by adding turtle scutes, with each scute restoring 25% the turtle carapace's maximum durability, rounded down. Two turtle carapaces can also be combined in an anvil. Both methods preserve the chestplate's enchantments.

Enchantments

Turtle Carpaces can be enchanted with all the normal enchantments for armor, and Scorchful's Rehydration enchantment.

Armor trimming

It is possible to upgrade turtle carapaces with trims. This requires a smithing template, a turtle carapace, and an ingot or crystal.

These trims have no effect on the gameplay or strength of the armor.
