Tech Reborn X for 19w13b (1.14 snapshot)

Tech Reborn X is an April Fools mod made during the 1.14 snapshot era of Fabric when Fabric was still being worked on leading up to the 1.14 release.

There was a website hosting the download and claiming:

Tech Reborn is now on 1.14! Get the all new Tech Reborn X with power-less and input-less, and grind-less machine! That's right, MACHINE! Singular! All machines have been replaced with a single slot machine! Test your luck now!

Sodalite Small Dust Given To Player From Slot Machine

(This really meant the mod's machines were not ready yet at that time of being ported over to Fabric 1.14 snapshots, but is otherwise a joke).

Upon installing the mod the player will see a rating GUI appear, the game will output a particular chat message based on the star rating given. With 5 stars the chat response will display "You made a good choice, thank you". For 1 to 4 stars no response is given.

The mod was a stripped down version containing components(materials, cables, plates, dusts, upgrades and more)/tools/armour and a slot machine. The player can interact with the block and see 3 slots in the GUI rotating.

There is a lever on the side of the slot machine's slots GUI that the player can interact with to get an item. Each time the player clicks the lever an item will appear in their inventory and the lever will animate by lowering and raising.

The website is still available via archive.org but download is no longer available and was not archived (unless only available from Modmuss50 the mod;'s creator) which was only on a Tech Reborn X GitHub and is not available on the Tech Reborn GitHub or Curseforge.

A video by SuntannedDuck2 is the only source of this version of the mod in action as not many were covering Fabric content as much back then as Youtubers do now.

Roughly Enough Items Fish Update introduced in 19w13b (1.14 snapshot) and still exists

Roughly Enough Items (REI) during the same time as Tech Reborn X had an April Fools addition.

File:REI Fish View Of Items.png

File:REI option shown to toggle fish mode in 19w13b.png

This addition was to have all items/blocks/fluids display as Clownfish.

When hovering over an item/block it will show the real one but when not hovering they will all appear as Clownfish. This is only for REI and doesn't effect blocks/items placed, in hand or in the player's inventory.

The option is still a setting in the current versions of mod rather than being the default in the version made for April Fools so it still lives on. It is called something different than what is available in the 19w13b build.

There is a video by SuntannedDuck2 showcasing the mod in action.

Mod Menu McAfee Anti Virus

In Mod Menu there is a mention of McAfee Anti Virus that appears when the day is April Fools.

File:Mod Menu McAfee Joke Text.png
Mod Menu McAfee Antivirus Joke Text

This mention appears similar to when chests convert to Christmas presents whenever it's around Christmas.

The joke text appears next to the 'Library', 'API' and various other tags for mods in the list.

Many mods will have 'Safe by McAfee' displayed, while Mod Menu itself will say 'Virus Detected'.

20w14Infinite Snapshot Modpack by ScottoMotto

There was many mods supported during this April Fools snapshot.

The most notable about this snapshot was the mods that worked on it as many Fabric mods that were made for 20w12a and 20w13a/b also worked on 20w14Infinite as 20w14a was not released until the next day.

While mods on snapshots and across snapshots or releases is nothing new for Fabric (if no major changes were made by Mojang or the Fabric Loader/API then they would work just fine), the amount that were available and for a surprise snapshot was the great part about it.

Some did target the Infinite snapshot while others just worked on prior snapshots and the Infinite one.

As no major changes were made to the snapshot that is likely why many were likely to support it (of those that were updating their mods to snapshots).

There is a modpack created by ScottoMotto that combines all of the compatible mods. Some like Adorn were not as easy to get working but a sizeable amount is available to make a survival experience worthwhile on this snapshot.

The mods in this modpack do not have anything particular about them like prior April Fools ideas in mods as many of them were for 20w12a or 20w13a/b (even those where the 1.16 snapshots is stated in the mod list).

There is two showcases of the modpack. They are available from this video by ScottoMotto and this video by SuntannedDuck2.

The modpack contains the following mods:

Legacy Fabric Storage Drawers Rick Roll 2021/2022

The video has the title 'Storage Drawers Legacy Fabric Showcase'

The video was posted in the Legacy Fabric Discord both in 2021 and 2022 around April Fools, the video itself was released on April 16th 2021.

Video Link

Thumbnail for video, Rick Rolling with Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up once video is played

The thumbnail shows Storage Drawers in the world but the F3 Debug Screen info does show Legacy Fabric and 1.8.9 to lead people to believe it's a possibility of the Storage Drawers mod coming to 1.8.9 Legacy Fabric. But it is mostly a generic screenshot.

Once the video is played it will play Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up for 3:33.

One Block At A Time Legacy Fabric Backport

This is more about the Legacy Fabric backport of the 2022 April Fools update than it is a Fabric team April Fools content.

Crafty 2

Changelog: Crafty II 1.0.0

Juuxel edited this page Apr 21, 2019 · 5 revisions

APRIL FOOLS! 😛

Crafty II is a full overhaul of Crafty. Instead of boring JSONs or hacky JSON5s, it uses the perfect format – s-expressions, placed in .sexp files in the familiar locations.

Before

{

"material": {

"base": "minecraft:dirt"

},

"item": {

"tab": "building_blocks"

},

"outlineShape": [{

"from": [ 6, 0, 6 ],

"to": [ 10, 16, 10 ]

}]

}

After

(dict

(material (dict

(base minecraft:dirt)))

(item (dict

(tab building_blocks)))

(outlineShape (list (dict

(from (list 6 0 6))

(to (list 10 16 10))))))

Crafty II uses jsexp for parsing s-exps.
