When holding a brush in the main hand and any of the tools mentioned above in their off hand, the player will be able to apply the effect in a 3x3 area instead of 1x1. Do note that using coal or bone meal along with a brush will cause all pixels in a 3x3 area match the center pixel color.

In survival mode, painting the canvas will not consume any dye, bone meal, or coal.
