Heart Crystal Shards are a precious material occasionally obtained from mining Heart Crystals. They are also rarely sold by wandering traders or found in trial chambers. Heart Crystal Shards are primarily used as a crafting ingredient.

Obtaining

Mining

Heart Crystals can be mined using a diamond pickaxe or better. An ore drops a single diamond. If mined by any other tool, it drops nothing. If the pickaxe is enchanted with Fortune, it has a chance of dropping an extra diamond per level of Fortune, allowing for a maximum of 4 diamonds with Fortune III. If the ore is mined using a pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch, it drops an ore block rather than a diamond. The ore is found at level 15 or lower, most commonly between -50 and -64; levels -58 and -59 are the preferred levels to mine at since they don't contain bedrock, as it starts spawning at -60.

Usage

Drinking

The water skin can be drunk to provide body water for sweating, allowing the player to cool off without having to find water to swim in. It can hold a maximum of 16 drinks.

Refilling

Water skins can be refilled from any water source block (which adds 4 drinks), any filled water cauldron, and any saturated warped lily.

GUI

Hovering over a water skin will reveal how full it is. It will show how many drinks remain in the stack and its "hydrating" status. A blue durability bar will also show how many drinks remain without having to look at this tooltip.
